Thanks - that was the effect I was going for. Placement doesn't matter so much with the transparent watermark. Turned out to be dead easy in Photoshop CS4, but it took an hour to realize that what used to need tweaking on several different screens was now all in one dialog box. And one of the tutorials showed a fatally incorrect setting which a different tutorial corrected in a "and here's another way you can do this" addendum.
