Amazing but true, thaigem.com was nextdoor to where I bought the red stones. They were closed (open bankers' hours) until after I'd already spent all my sapphire budget, but I did poke my head in on the way back to the hotel, and was kicking myself for missing that opportnity. They looked pretty good. Their online site, though, only has a couple of star sapphires for sale, and some of those are the cheap ones from India which only have a 2-line star instead of 3-line. Prices online look to be about double the in-country price, which still makes them a good deal.
