If they keep bugging you after that, send them a note telling them you owe them nothing, the debt is disputed, to stop all contact pursuant to the fair debt collection practices act, and let them know you'd be happy to accept service on a summons so that you may countersue them for harassment and get a chance to tell your side in court. That will bounce your file to their legal department, where someone might have enough sense to read all the stuff you sent (which they're obviously too lazy to do - they get lots of correspondence, and they don't read very well) before actually doing anything.
