People with MS featured in The Sun

Over on the other side of the pond, one of my cousins has MS. She is very pretty and articulate and speaks all over Europe to promote the rights of "invisible malady" victims. The Sun did a very nice spread where they talked to several people with MS and one person whose mother has it, and while it is dumbed down for their reqaders, it's still pretty good. The hook they used was Ozzie Osborne's son having been just diagnosed.

I got that your cousin is female, was referring to the Osbourne kid, hope he makes it through ok. Hope your cousin too, she sounds like a real trouper. Pretty name.

Yeah, made up name. She was named Suzi Pollock, then took her mom's maiden name for stage work, Suzi Goldman, decided to use her Hebrew first name and became Shoshana Goldman, Shortened it to Shana, and finally thought those surnames were too ethnic, so she dug into the deep past and found an Italian/Spanish ancestor Pezaro. Her brother and his wife also changed their names to Pezaro. Considering that Pollock was an insult handed to Jews from Poland, and Goldman is obviously Jewish, and antisemitism is still rife in the UK, not a bad move.

Ha! You're talking to someone who's changed their name (legally, with court papers and everything) *three* times. I was born Alix Meredith Lowry.

I think she and I ended up with the right solutions.

there's also the whole thing that I don't *look* Greek... my grandparents were Norwegian. :-)
