The rationalization I keep hearing for the health plan (I didn't use the word "care," OK) is it's "better than nothing."
I'm reminded of the compromise back in the 60s when LBJ got Medicare passed. The dems wanted it to be single payor, the reps didn't agree, and the compromise was the horrid 80/20 split, where 20% of medical costs under Medicare still require (in most cases) private insurance. They promised to fix that back then. Still waiting.
