I saw Ralph McTell in the early 80s. He was touring with Stefan Grossman and John Renbourn, two of the finest guitar players on the planet, in radically different styles. When they played together, the synthesis of their two styles was remarkable and unique. After hearing Ralph play it, I learned Blind Blake's Too Tight Rag. I still have my autographed LPs of Stefan Grossman & John Renbourn. I was too poor to buy everything back then, so nothing signed by Ralph, since that's the only time I know of that he's visited Denver.
I really like Streets of London, but I don't perform it because it's one of those songs that a lot of folksingers have in their repertoire, and most of them do it better than me.
