I've never subscribed to HBO, Slowtime or their ilk. But I do pay extra for the package which includes the NFL channel, and the highest speed internet. What I've got is the minimum I need. I already own my cable modem and all my wi-fi gear, and a pair of Tivo boxes instead of the craptastic Comcast DVRs.
