Writing Wrongs

On the rare occasions I bang (that's what I call strumming) I tend to favor the thumb/finger thing, because it allows one to hit with the force of the fingernail on downstrokes and the thumbnail on upstrokes. To me, though, limiting playing to strumming is like limiting driving to nothing but left turns.
