Are you trying to punish Spook for scratching you? I am pretty sure she has no idea why you are locking her out of everywhere. Maybe when you do her nails you could wrap her up like a burrito so she couldn't scratch you. (I take my dog to the vet to have her nails clipped because I am too chicken to do it. I am afraid to cut too close. ) Luckily, she allows this proceedure with no problem.
