Looking at what kind of theater there is out there to do, and it's pretty thin. I don't see anything I want to be in for the fall except stuff which already is on stage (I don't like to be stuck in a rehearsal hall in the summer). Lyric is doing 1776 late winter, and the Ben Franklin part looks like fun, but it's almost an all-male cast, not my idea of a great theater experience. Palo Alto is doing A Light in the Piazza, but I don't know if there's a part for me in that. And it would close just before Saratoga's Man of La Mancha opens, which I really do want to try out for. Maybe I'll volunteer to work backstage at Stanford's Pirates next month, it's been a while, and it's a fun show even to be backstage for.
Looked at the La Mancha audition page - some strangeness -
howbearca has pre-cast the Innkeeper's wife. That's something of a WTF.
