Cheney Announces Resignation
Apr. 1st, 2008 10:08 am[WASHINGTON D.C.] Vice President Dick Cheney is expected to announce his resignation at a press conference called at Blaire House tonight at 7 p.m. Eastern Time (4 p.m. Pacific). According to sources close to the Vice President who asked to remain anonymous, Cheney will cite health issues and a desire to spend more time with his family. While a search has not started for a replacement, sources said former Attorney General John Ashcroft and Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff are both on the short list. No comment has been received from the President or his staff.
