Writer's block
Mar. 7th, 2011 12:38 amThe current question is getting more responses than any I have seen in a long time:
If you could confront the worst teacher you've ever had, what would you tell him or her?
I confronted my worst teacher way back in the 6th grade, showed my parents the evidence, they brought it to the principal, and that teacher was not hired back the following year. I have never been one to suffer in silence.
When I was in 1st grade, I was sure Miss Moshey was the worst teacher on the planet. She was very strict, and although she was American she would yell orders to us in German. Mostly "Mach schnell, bitte!" Mom said this was because prior to being a grade school teacher she taught American GIs how to speak German during WWII. My parents admired her for that. She had also been my older sister's teacher. Hindsight tells me what made her the worst teacher is she saw right through me.
I had superb teachers for 3rd, 4th and 5th grades and I can't think of a truly bad teacher in high school except for the Senior Health teachers, a couple of PE teachers who assumed we knew all about sex already and gave some of the worst family financial planning advice I have ever heard. I mostly skipped that class.
