Of Mice and Men
May. 12th, 2018 10:51 pmFew people know the full quote:
"The best laid schemes o' mice an' men
Gang aft a-gley.” - Robert Burns
So this happened. It was 1:45 pm before I was dressed and medicated. Instead of going fishing, I went shopping. First stop was for some medical equipment suggested by the urologist. Down the block to Auto Zone for wiper fluid. Next up was BB&B for sodastream exchange and more gold diet cola syrup. And as chance would have it, a pan-sized anodized non-stick grill thing because the allegedly seasoned cast iron one I cooked the satay on wasn't seasoned after all, and is now a very heavy piece of useless iron.
ATM nearby provided some cash, and then I drove to Grocery Outlet for fried chicken and whatever Saffron Road lunches were edible.
And Jewish Rye bread.
Home to test the medical equipment. Results were far from desired.
Watched a bunch of NFL Network over a bowl of soup. Chicken stock, chicken, beef ravioli, shrimp won tons, matzo balls.
Took the urology meds and tried combining the equipment, but no luck. This time I remembered the Dayquil antidote.
Consoled myself with some baklava and chocolate ice cream.
Watched Graham Norton.
Fed the rye sourdough starter. It seems to be doing well. Maybe next week I'll try to make some bread with it.
Watered all the indoor plants.
Plans for tomorrow:
My fishing gear is already in the car
Ed Levin Park with camera and fishing pole
Take out the garbage
