No poo foo so pedi-mani

My GI tract finally decided to behave itself. Had a banana nut muffin for breakfast and forgot to eat the banana I'd taken out of the fridge.

Called for a pedicure/acrylic fill appointment at G-Lee which I had not been to after they treated my appointment like a walk-in, made me wait an hour and did a rush job.

Big mistake.

Except for the owner and one male relative, 100% turnover and most of the workers are male. Noon appointment started at 12:30 with the owner, but she soon shunted me off to the one male relative. He did both the pedicure and acrylic nails, and he was adequate. But slow, and his kit was past its use-by date.

Before driving home I stopped in at a new seniors medical clinic next to the nails place. Much closer than the one I'm with. I'm going to switch next week.

It was 3 pm when I got home. and 111°.

FL fisherman was on the water off Miami for a while, Elsa had come up the other side of FL. Storm chasers were on their way home, disappointed.

PTI was pre-empted by soccer again. 6 am news on channel 3 is now my standard. 13 is too amateur.

Put Jade's favorite canned food out by the kitty food/water area, got on my hands and knees and lured her out of her hole and she eventually found it.

She went back in her hole for a bit, but she's finding places to spread out, and when I took a break from channel surfing to refill her bowl, she did not take long to dig in.

This time she left some over.

While she was on the window sill, Spook went over to her, took a look and then walked away. I suspect Spook sees a kindred spirit - they have nearly identical pasts.

Delivered a day early from Best Buy: a truly cheap Canon direct-feed inkjet printer and the wrong spare ink. Wi-fi, but their instructions wasted 20 minutes having me install an app on my phone which only prints from the phone. Another 20 minutes online with the PC connecting it to my router - needed to use the WPS feature.

But it handled the two-sided card stock like a champ, alignment was perfect and now I have 30 usable biz cards with my Las Vegas phone number and my social media links easy to read on the back.

Also delivered was my 4th Sonos speaker, now installed in the kitchen. I had to upgrade the phone app twice for it to recognize the new model, and to group it with the other 3.

And then I noticed my BP meter app was gone. They have a vastly improved new one, but it did not recognize my fingerprint or my password. Easily fixed.

Dinner was salad, a Church's chicken drumstick and mint chip ice cream.

Charge the car overnight because ultrasound the next day will be a long drive
Continue to watch Jade become used to being out and about in the house. She is less frightened of me now.

Nitrogen and cat news

Still struggling with the new insulin. It needs food to be eaten on time.

GPS and my brain had trouble finding the dermatology clinic because it is set back from the road its address is on, with several unrelated buildings in the way. I got there exactly on time, should have been 10 minutes early. Long line waiting to check in, then a long wait in the overflow upstairs waiting room. They told me Jenny Tran would be my NP, but it was Jimmy Tran. He sprayed my face & head with liquid nitrogen, said the sunburn looked pre-cancerous, and to come back in 3 weeks to see if he guessed right or if it needs a biopsy. And to wear SPF 100 sunscreen. I need to start wearing the sunscreen I keep in the car. Ought to take it out of the trunk and keep it on the front seat.

Needed some produce, shopped at Smith's on the way home. They have the best produce, and the best selection of Lean Cuisine meals. The store layout is unfamiliar so it took longer to find everything on my list. And then they only had 2 cashiers working and 17 people in line with full carts like me. However there was some significant eye candy.

114°, got home hot & exhausted, and had to chill for half an hour before I was up to putting stuff away.

Stopped at the mailbox, and met the energetic petite blonde from the party. Her name is Katie, and she has an SO. They moved here 2 months before I did.

In the mailbox was a condolence card from the vets who had put Maam to sleep, with handwritten messages from both doctors and the vet tech. ♥

Watched the 6 am channel 3 news - the co-anchors are a married couple and their 16 year old daughter is helping tech with an outdoor production of High School Musical being done by an all-Vegas high school cast. Very cool. Also watched PTI and a Nevada Outdoors.

Spook came out to eat from her bowl of treats, and when she was done Jade snuck out of her hole and stalked over there and gobbled treats as Spook watched from a safe distance. And then Spook walked away. That's major. Jade obviously needed some water but did not go to the water fountain. I'm not sure she knows what it is. So when she was parked on the window sill I brought some water over but she is still scared of me and bolted. She's lying on the floor. Oh wait, I put some Sheba food out in the food/water area and she is eating it. Had to tiptoe around to not frighten her.

Plans for tomorrow:
Maybe call my Baltimore sister for a flood report
Ultrasound of my legs - clinic is way way far, allow 90 minutes
