Oh poop. Oh noes

Up on time because garbage day, but the first bin wasn't collected until 11:30, the second one around 3.

Things were looking up with Jade, she learned that when I petted her up on top of the counter, she could jump down and follow me across the kitchen opening to the food dishes. She keep looking for Spook, very wary.

But then she pooped on the counter - not good, I store food there - and then when she was eating,  Spook came out of nowhere and charged at her, guarding the food & water.

Much as I hated to do it, I moved my work setup to the living room, got the extra food tower and treats dish out of the rack, pulled the spare water fountain out of the guest bathroom, got the spare electronic litterbox out of the shed and a cartridge for it off the laundry rack, and set up the guest room for cat. Carried Jade down the hall and into the room (she was not thrilled with the transport) and finally moved the cat cam from the mantelpiece to the guest room.

Jade found a spot on the cat tree about the same height as the kitchen counter and hasn't moved from there all day, which is pretty normal for her. Spook has hung around outside the guest room door a bit, and I spent some time in the room sitting and talking but Jade is still angry. Hopefully she will come out of her shell when she realizes she's safe. But this is going to take a long time.

Delivered was a USB 3.0 7-port hub. I shut down the PC, installed it, and moved all the important connections to it, so I don't have to get on the floor and pull out the PC to get to them in the back. Also discovered in Control Panel that there were old keyboards, mice and cameras which needed to be uninstalled. Things are working a lot better now.

Also in that delivery was a 3'x5' American flag. I attached it to the pole and set it up next to and above the Peace Corps flag out front. Just in time for 23 MPH gusts.

I talked to Caryn, the neighbor whose carport roof was damaged, and she said there was nothing she could see which could have caused it. She confirmed that it was damaged from above, and will know more tomorrow when the insurance adjuster takes a look. My money is still on a meteorite. She said the roof is only 3 years old, and we've had much hotter weather and much stronger winds, so WTF?

Tried to watch PTI but instead there was a very poor little league game. :-(

2-hour Bachelor in Paradise was better than average, lots of good couples hooking up, and the two phonies - both named Victoria - went home. But so did Champagne Girl, because the script was followed and her guy chose Demi the wonder slut. Demi is part of the Bachelor Nation production team, she really had no call to be on the show competing with the other women.

Work news - still no email from payroll. I won't get paid on time for last week. Recruiter doesn't get it that of course I checked my spam folders.

Two training Zoom sessions scheduled, one for Wednesday and one for Friday. Should be fun.

Jade disappears

Sometime in the middle of the night, Jade left her perch on the cat tree, and disappeared. I've been in the room several times, played the piano for a while, looked with a flashlight into all the spaces I thought she might be, but to no avail. At least I know she has to be in the guest room somewhere. The food and litterbox have not been touched.

But when I first got her, she spent weeks curled up in the hidey hole, not coming out for anything, so I just have to be patient. She has food and water and plenty of space. Spook has only camped outside the door a couple of times, and has also looked for her in the office and kitchen.

Drove up Tropicana, drove through the car wash. It was good to get the spots off the windows but I miss the cat paw prints walking up the windshield.

Back down Trop, dropped the credit voucher & letter into the PO mailbox.

Neighbor says her insurance guy blamed their carport roof explosion on a microburst. Not possible with a clear blue sky and relatively calm winds. Also way too localized. Guess again.

Looked up the two training sessions for work. Turns out they are Zoom sessions YAY!  2 pm tomorrow, noon Friday. I have a dermatology appointment Thursday at 2.

The news sites are still utterly predictable. Feh.

Took a nap around 4-5:30. Bored more than anything else.

Watched Below Deck Med. No injuries this time, thought one stew has serious mental health issues. No one hooked up. Service sucked because of that stew, but it was not reflected in the tip.
Bachelor in Paradise threw a couple of curves, one went the right way, the other not so much. I hope someone throws Conner a rose, because Riley stole his girl.
