Hole in the house sealed

Mobile home repair techs got here at 10 am, scoped out the two places where raccoons had destroyed vents, left for Home Depot to get stuff and returned in about an hour with 2x4s and heavy steel vents. They already had the 4-inch steel screws.

The work was done in about half an hour, luckily for them it was only 92° by then. $140, very reasonable. Paid over the phone with their parent company in Austin.

Called my PCP office and was told that yes, the referral was for an ultrasound, not a CT scan. Called again to let my PCP know that I've used all the Cipro.  Phoned Desert Radiology and this time got a competent scheduler who booked me for November Fool's Day afternoon at the nearest clinic.

Got a call from my PCP's office asking if I had taken all the cipro. :-(

Jade has been crying, so I spent more time with her today. She is not hiding much anymore, she likes the floor under the gamer chair or behind the tree. I figure she is not thrilled with being shut in, so I ordered a mesh gate to place in the door jamb.  It's now showing out of stock. Hmmm. Amazon has it in stock... Most of these gates are designed to keep babies and large dogs in/out but cats can easily get through the bars or over the top. So a tall gate with mesh instead of bars should allow Jade and Spook to make rude noises at each other without being able to get at each other. Except maybe paws.

While I was at it I also ordered another case of Jade canned food, and re-did my Amazon subscription to deliver 6 litterbox refills a month instead of 3. I change them every 2 weeks.

Wanted to get a manicure but still have holes in my fingers.

Fired up Amazon Fire and watched 3 more episodes of Star Trek Lower Decks, animated series 2. Still way too violent, but now they are closer to being a Trek parody than just an excuse to hire Trek animation artists.

Also watched a series called Mystery Files. Their deal is to destroy reputations. They did a good job on Nostradamus, showed that Da Vinci didn't invent as much as take ideas, improve them and draw prettier pictures of them. They did give him major kudos for being an incredible painter. Newton had serious emotional issues until his main critic died, at which point he basically took over the academy. The Birth of Christ shot all kinds of holes in the modern celebration of that event, but they left out the real reason Joe was in Bethlehem - but they got the Spring time frame right. There are several more episodes but not available for free yet.

Three episodes of Married At First Sight. The first was a halfway through session with a panel of fans - all women and most journalists. Next was the current episode and last was the tell-all for that episode with three of the men, all of whom said and did horrible things during the episode.

I nuked PTI when Pablo led off instead of Mike.

Banana breakfast, fruit bowl lunch, salad and corn dogs dinner (putting away the corn dogs I bought yesterday I found I still had a bunch in the freezer).

Delivered today was a new BP meter. Readings were normal, so I threw out the Omron which wanted me to believe my BP was 99/40. Also delivered were two cat pheromone "calming"  diffusers, which I plugged into outlets in Jade's room.  Maybe it will cut down on the crying, maybe she will let me pick her up. Maybe she will not be as scared of Spook.
