Forgotten Friday

Friday a long time friend called from Seattle to catch up. We met in the 60's at UW international folkdancing, which I followed for many years. When I moved to the Bay Area she had gotten married and was working at the naval air station there. She and husband have been back in Seattle, retired, and live in a senior living apartment which is under total lockdown. She's a nurse, so has some educated ideas - one of which is she expects it to be 2 years before there is an effective vaccine.
She also keeps tabs on all our folkdance friends, and let me know someone I had a huge crush on back then recently died of cancer. And I asked if she had any word from Jimmy, my first openly gay friend. The last I had seen he was moving to LA to be with his boyfriend. She said he had been living with a woman partner for several years on the Olympic peninsula, and passed away a couple of years ago. Aids.
