Interesting day at work. I was given a big assignment, which I did not quite know all the pieces of, and the documentation was absurdly uninformative. Like one step said "run the program" without mentioning that it had to be run from a command line, and on a dozen machines at once. My lead engineer said he'd hook up with me after lunch to give me the missing pieces, but he took the afternoon off. And he was talking about not coming in tomorrow.

So with the help of two of my team members and some guessing, I think I managed to set up the test to run overnight the way it is supposed to. Which means I'll have a couple of hours of work tomorrow just harvesting the results, not to mention actually analyzing them.

My cold is mostly gone, but I still have this tickle in my throat which makes me cough, unless I'm drinking something or sucking on cough drops. They have 10 varieties of tea available, plus all kinds of sodas, so there's no lack of things to drink. I'm pretty sure that symptom will be gone by tomorrow.

Which is good, because I start the morning with a dentist appointment. Routine cleaning.

I should find a play to go to tomorrow night. Thought about Annie Get Your Gun at Foothill, but nobody I know is in the cast. Pear Ave Theater is re-running a 1-woman show starring the owner of the theater. She's a good actress, but I'm not fond of solo plays. Dragon Productions is still in rehearsals, I'll have to see that after I get back from England.

Spent some Quality Time after work playing with Time Crisis III, the only Playstation2 game I could find which works with my light gun. It was fun the first couple of times, but it doesn't let you save your game, so when you're killed you have to start all the way at the beginning again. I hate when that happens.

Saturday will do some shopping, and see if I can get my white dress pants altered so I can wear them to the wedding. They are a 32" inseam and I'm about a 28. I'll bring my whole plantation whites outfit, since the parents of the bride have offered to hold onto it for me while I traipse around the country. I couldn't see carrying it all over Great Britain with me, especially the cowboy hat. Come to think of it, I may want to leave the hat home. Decisions decisions.
