Pumpkin Update

howeirdHe's improving, but not as fast as I thought he would. He spent most of last night curled up against my side. I got up three or four times in the early morning to check my blood sugars, and after about three times he decided it was better to curl up on the cat shelf by the window. Never mind that the drapes are closed.
This morning he was still somewhat slow, but not wobbly anymore. He went to the food dish and just sat there with his face an inch above the iams, but he didn't eat. I took a few pieces out of the bowl and put them on the floor in front of him, and he made a half-hearted effort to pick one up and then decided against it. But he stayed in front of the bowl for about 10 minutes.
They gave me a liquid antibiotic to feed him, it's fluorescent pink. He didn't put up much of a fight when I squirted it into his mouth, and only a couple of drops ended up on the floor. But I can tell I'm not making myself loved that way.
The vets called to check how he was doing, and I told them. They forgot to tell me the wrap which had held on his IV could be removed soon after getting him home, so I'll take that off him when I get back from work tonight. He made a motion to pull it off, but like pretty much everything this morning his heart wasn't in it.
The good news is he's not vomiting or coughing. Nothing is bleeding. His eyes look clear.
But he's not a happy camper.
