True confession - I thought Tobey Maguire WAS Topher Grace from "That 70s Show" until this movie came out. They look so similar.
I wanted to see this one because Gwen Stacey is in it - and she was always a much more interesting character than Mary Jane. I also wanted to see it because I felt strongly that "Spiderman 2" was the best comic book movie ever made.
Still - this review in concordant with the others I've seen. What a shame.
