In old age difficulties run into us"

Type II Diabetes is a disease of contradictions. There are no immediate symptoms, blood sugar levels don't get high enough (as they do in Type I). It can take decades for any symptoms to show. Even though there is no immediate ill effect for me to consume high calorie food, I'll pay for it eventually. Knowing this, I sometimes make the choice to enjoy now, pay later. I made that choice earlier this week when a series of unfortunate events caused a spike in my craving for halvah. Unable to find my favorite flavor in the mass market grocery stores, and noting the "use by" dates in the local Arab market were last century, I went online and found halvah.biz. I ordered what should be a year's supply, which I expect to be delivered Monday.
