There's never an 8th game, there are no ties in major league baseball, if it's tied at the end of the 9th inning, they just play till someone wins -- if the home team is ahead after the first half of the inning, or the visiting team is ahead at the end of the inning.

I think current rules say an inning cannot start after 1 am, so if the score is still tied they come back later that day, or the next day, to finish.

A World Series game has never gone more than 14 innings, and that's only happened twice (game 3 last year and game 2 in 1916 (Babe Ruth was the winning pitcher - yeah he was a pitcher before he was a home run hero).
