I was "on stage" in the white suit & goatee, and never thought about it being comfortable or un-. Now that I think about it, the suit was very comfortable, it is light-weight, a good fit, the pants were even lined. The shirt collar is about 1/2" larger than my neck, so the tie was not a problem. The shoes are a perfect fit.
But it looked uncomfortable to my audience, which was the desired effect.
You're right, it would be a waste if I only wore the outfit once, and it's possible if I continue to lose weight that by ther next con it will be too big on me. But I can probably get back what I paid on eBay, and I now know where to get a white suit in a smaller size...and the shoes will always fit. In fact, now I want a pair of black Wellingtons too.
