More Wetness
Mar. 20th, 2011 07:04 pmRained a lot today, but the sun came out as well. I was indoors most of the time, anyway. Got to the theater at 10:30 and was an effective Warm Body™ till about 3:00, when things bogged down due to a lack of planning by the set designer on how to attach a few very delicate pieces to the flys. Flys being pipes which are hauled up and down so the set piece can "fly" in and out of the scene. Long story short, nothing could be done by us non-skilled labor until all those pieces were on their flys, off of the stage floor. I bailed at 4, when we were told there was nothing to do for the next hour, since I'd planned on only being there till 5 and had a coffee date...
Coffee date was my usual weekly chat at *bux.
Several old theater friends came by who are not in the crew or cast. The ASM showed us her brand new blue sapphire + diamond chips engagement ring. She was in full squee mode. Good for her! Some of the kids in the cast showed up in the afternoon, a couple of them took postcard-flyers outside and put them on the parked cars, and tried to hand them to passerby, but did not have much luck since most of the passers-by were in a Run/Walk For The Cure thing. It is a Good Thing when the cast likes the show enough to take that kind of initiative.
Home now, will heat up some duck & Dom Ka Gai for dinner. Mango banana smoothie for dessert.
Found a local CPA firm which looks promising - sent a message asking if they are the right place to help me with the trust's taxes.
Plans for tomorrow:
Peruse the usual sparse Monday morning job listings
Return some audio books to the library
Hang out at the library
Theater by 6:30 for cue-to-cue (tech) rehearsal
(we'll be rehearsing all week)
