Impulse Insomnia

Could not get to sleep last night, brain would not disengage. Something I heard or read during the day got me to thinking that going fishing would be a Good Idea. Pulled out the netbook and after a lot of searching found that the nearest available freshwater fishing was a place called Anderson Lake. After much thought, I decided that I'd rather camp out for a couple of nights as well, and Anderson is day use only. And they don't have any boat rental as far as I could tell.

Back to try to sleep.  No joy. Netbook again, made reservations for three nights at my old favorite, San Luis Reservoir.  Finally got to sleep.

First thing this morning I decided that San Luis is too long a drive. Looked up Del Valle Park in Livermore, which has boat rentals and fishing and camping and is a shorter & easier drive. Made reservations for two nights there, and canceled the San Luis reservation.  Check-in day was the same for both trips, chosen for the moon phase, because I figure I will take the telescope with me. The new one. The weather has not been good enough since I bought it to take it out at night.

Cost me $15.50 to cancel the San Luis reservation - ReserveAmerica gets you coming and going. $8 to reserve, $7.50 to cancel. What a scam.

Now I need to buy a fishing license and some fishing gear.
