They Lied

The online course said it was 6 hours long. It would have been if they had left out the two useless, horrible quality movies. And out of the 6 hours, there was maybe 1.5 hours of actual content. Someone was paid to create a 6-hour course, rather than a course which covered all the required material. I'm glad I did not sign up for the instructor-led class, it would have been unbearable. And besides, I need more pee breaks than they would have offered.

Did not get anything done today, am still working on the class, as it drones through the third movie. Feh.

I apologize on behalf of everyone who's produced terrible courses, having done it myself. They pay well and exert a lot of pressure to come through, no matter what. The stuff I did stank to high heaven.

This course is not too smelly, it is way padded to force the student to be online for 8 hours. Each page has a timer on it, you cannot advance to the next page until the timer runs out. I'm a slow reader, and I still am done 5-10 seconds before the timer says I can go. And there are some very well-done animations to illustrate many of the most important basics, but those each have a 90-second intro which is only there to impress the client with how shiny the animations are.

I'm almost done with a 13 course set. Fortunatly in 1-2 hour bite sized chunks.

However, what I'm finding is that each class often repeats or rehashes the content of other courses in the set.

Our group has talked about it and we all just let them run and mostly ignore them as you do other work. Then take the quizes.

The movies I was able to put on mute and do other things when it became obvious they were just filler. But the quizzes required taking meticulous notes on the rest of the content because (a) you had to get 5 out of 5 right to continue to the next topic and (b) the questions were mostly non-intuitive. They even made up their own non-mnemonic abbreviations for things which have a common-usage word mnemonic.
