Un-PC

The new PC is not behaving itself. It hangs in all kinds of unusual places. On boot-up, it won't go past the USB initialization - I think it is failing the memory self-test. That certainly jives with all the other hangs - they all happen when I'm doing something which grabs a lot of memory. This morning I was trying to edit a DVD, and it hung when I made a cut, then the next time it hung trying to load the movie into the editor.

So the first step is to pop the memory DIMMs into the two other slots. Next would be to buy new memory. I'm pretty sure the warranty on the DIMMs has expired.
