Banana Blind

For the past several years, a banana has been part of (sometimes all of) my breakfast. Somehow over the last few months I have slowly developed a blind spot which refuses to see the bananas right there on the kitchen counter.
It started with forgetting that there was a banana in the lunch cooler I bring to work. I tried to compensate by putting two bananas in there, but often when I returned home one or both were still in there.
Last night I bought a hand of bananas, which I totally forgot about. This morning as I was leaving for work I literally tripped over the shopping bag they were in (which I had left by the coat rack). When I saw the bananas in there, it reminded me there were still two bananas on the kitchen counter from the last batch.
Those went into my lunch cooler, and I just ate one. We'll see if the other one comes home with me or if I forget it in the excitement of the other nom noms which are in there: a bagel and lox sandwich, a pickle and 10 Oreos®.
