consonance_con filk convention in Milpitas. Friday evening the Toastmaster amazed us all with clever lyrics, fun tunes and faster than light guitar fingerings. Saturday Downtown Freddie Brown from Brampton Ontario was an excelled but more mellow follow-up. Interfilk guest Merav Hoffman was off-key and so were most of the people she brought up onstage to sing with her, never less than 4. GoH Ookla The Mock is a LOUD heavy-handed rock band with "meh" lyrics. After two numbers I went out to the hall and listened in on conversations with the other 20 or so filkers who couldn't take the noise.
I'll have video and photos from the camcorder tomorrow, I hope. Bedtime now.
