when I'm told at rehearsals I have tomorrow off, but then get email at midnight adding me to a scene I shouldn't even be in. :-(

Rehearsals tonight were a major clusterfuck. What was billed as a run-thru of Act I turned into 15 minutes of announcements (most of them not needed), 20 minutes of yoga led by the stage manager whose job it isn't and whose voice pierces armor plate at 50 feet. That's half an hour stolen from rehearsal time.

And they decided to stop everything so that two (count 'em, 2) men in the cast could be rolled into kilts in the middle of a chorus number. And then there were the set changes, huge heavy set pieces have to be dragged onstage and clamped into place between scenes, three times.

We got done at 10:35, not as late as it could have been, but in that time we should have been able to run the act twice.

Our leads still don't know their lines.

The chorus and dancers are pretty solid. Mostly.

Work today was easy, I just had one very boring pair of tests to run, and prepare for something completely different for tomorrow.

Plans for tomorrow:
Repair guy at 9 am to fix the strike plate on the front door so it locks and unlocks, and to fix the washer, or haul it away or something.
Work
Rehearsals.

I remember one place I rented before I became a home moaner. In a space of a few months, the landlord had to replace a dryer, a water heater and fix a gas leak where the solder joints on the stove connection had disintegrated since the 60s. No problem. Then when the lease term ended, he raised the rent to cover his "rising expenses." I wound up paying more for higher rent than I would have if I'd paid for the repairs out of pocket.
