There are two things I do not understand. Obama worship and an unreasoning fear and hatred of Trump.

Some of my best friends have both. Some have one or the other. I have neither.

Just think, in Thailand I could be arrested for posting anything which criticizes the government.

The fear and hatred of Trump seems to me to be quite well reasoned. He is a loose cannon who will say and do anything to gain power or profit. And that's only scratching the surface. I think "clear and present danger" or "danger to himself and others" sums it up nicely.

As I've said before, we agree in principle, but not in intensity. I would much rather have a loose cannon than someone who knows how to aim it at me. You're too young to remember what a threat Nixon was. Much bigger than the current one, IMHO, because he had no scruples and he knew how to aim.

No, I'm not too young. I lived my teen years during the war, and the draft. I was well-informed, read the first 2 sections of 2 newspapers every day, and pretty much became a young radical watching the '68 democratic convention on TV. Nonstop. Beginning to end.

Just because I disagree with you doesn't make me right. Or wrong.

And vice-versa.

You definitely are too young, my friend. Senator Nixon was a staunch supporter of Sen. McCarthy's programs, and often bragged about being the only public official to put a communist in jail. When Eisenhower had a medical emergency and handed the reins over to Nixon, Nixon ordered some naval operations which put the Panama Canal in jeopardy. And then there's his "Checkers" speech.

And his selection of Spiro Agnew as his running mate. That didn't work out very well.

If you think Trump's buddying up with Putin is bad, Nixon did the same with Zhou Enlai. We owe to him the asinine One China policy.

In that case, you don't understand government because you weren't alive when the Magna Carta was signed. Your argument is invalid. And I knew about all those things.
