I googled her name. Second time today I have thought about a holocaust survivor. One of my Facebook friends posted something about a woman named Eva Kor, who, as a young girl, was part of Joseph Mengele's twins study.
Back when I was traveling across the US, I stopped in Terre Haute to see my brother. I posted a picture of the big water tower, and a woman I once dated in San Francisco sent me a message to tell me her mother lived there, and that she had a holocaust museum. She called her mom, who agreed to meet with me at the museum. she showed me around, and told me her story. It was probably the most interesting experience of that trip.
The other memory this pose evoked was what I felt when I read the book by Luong Ung. So powerful. I understand it is soon to be a major motion picture.
