Justice Rant: Due Process

Roy Moore may be a total scumbag, but he's entitled to due process.

Sitting members of the Senate telling him to bow out of a race (which he cannot do - he'll be on the ballot no matter what he says) on the basis of claims made 30-40 years after the fact, is un-American.

He's innocent.

Until charges are filed, a trial is held, and he is found guilty, he's innocent.

And innocent or guilty, it's for the voters to decide if they want him to represent them.

It's true for him and everyone else who has been tried in the media lately

He can't be tried as it is past the statute of limitations.

Nobody is trying to toss him in jail.

Too many people have similar stories, though, for me to believe him - and that includes other Alabama Republicans. His lack of respect for the law should have been enough to disqualify him for office, but that's another matter.
