Conditioning Is a Bad Thing
Dec. 9th, 2004 04:36 pmAs I rounded the corner by my local gas station, my first thought was $2.05 a gallon is a pretty good price. It was 20 cents a gallon more about two weeks ago.
And a dollar less about a year ago?
So my second reaction was "what a rip-off!"
I was lucky - just before the latest round of price gouging, I changed jobs, which cut my commute from 30 miles a day to about 5. But I did stop making trips to Santa Cruz, which is "only" a 70-mile round trip, but it eats gas like crazy thanks to the curves and climbs and unpredictable traffic flow.
