Global Heating Scam
Jul. 17th, 2007 09:26 amThe whole global warming scare is a plot by the petroleum, gas and coal industries who stand to lose trillions of dollars if the mean temperature of the temperate zones rises, due to reduced or eliminated need for artificial heating. The electric power companies will straddle the fence, because they win either way - heat or air conditioning.
Yes, Global Warming is real. Of course the globe is warming, we are constantly losing orbital velocity and getting closer to the sun.
I am, however, very concerned with the depletion of the ozone layer. We need as many O's as we can get. Has anyone found the G-spot in the O-zone layer?
Sapphires, Anyone?
Jul. 17th, 2007 10:11 amI'm posting this again because since the last time a few folks have been dropping by who do costumes and jewelry who had not been here much before.
I collect star sapphires.( cut because I care ) My last couple of purchases were lots of 20 stones, out of which about a dozen did not have enough of a star for me to keep in my collection. These are light blue, cabachon and round, about a carat, and I am offering them free to anyone who could use them for jewelry and/or costuming. Post a reply here and I'll divvy them up in a couple of days.

Better Latent Than Never
Jul. 17th, 2007 10:52 amBought supporting memberships in the 2007 and 2008 Worldcons. About time I put my money where my mouth was, instead of just my foot.
May even upgrade to attending membership for Denver, depending on lots of things, like whether I'm still employed, going to SeaFair (which is the same weekend, I think), still single, and how their programming shapes up. Writer GOH is Lois McMaster Bujold, which I think may over-fantasy-ize the con for me. Or not. Maybe I should read Falling Free which sounds more sci-fi than fantasy from the little blurbs I've seen. I'm open to suggestions.
