Dragging after 6 am insomnia

Last night was brutal, waking up to pee almost every 15 minutes. Turns out what I though was a ß blocker is actually a much more powerful alpha blocker. Spook was in bed most of the night, except when she was harassing Jade through the gate.

It rained yesterday, and was cold & cloudy this morning. I needed bananas, juices, muffins and there was a sale on Breyer's ice cream. So I ordered delivery from Albertsons for a noon- 4 pm window. Also needed more sourdough baguettes for the cheese.

Amazon kept sending me email that the replacement cat fountain** was delayed (expected it yesterday) and KingSize is giving me 25% off one item for their very delayed shirt delivery. OTOH the printing center says the calendars will be here early - about the 11th.

Did not hear from the cardiologist except to confirm my pacemaker reading for Monday.

There was a surprise medical item delivery from a company which is usually way late but was early this time.

Called my new insurance tech support to get them to stop sending me invites to sign up for their patient portal because I have had a login there for 2+ years.

**Cat fountain showed up late afternoon, I set it up and moved the overflowing one to the guest bathroom to empty it, and saw that it did not need to be replaced after all, just needed to be cleaned. Too late now. I'll keep it as a spare.

Spook is now officially a bad girl™. She has given up any pretense of playing with Jade and instead climbs the tree and attacks. Jade growls, so the drugs are not working, but Spook knows better.

Groc delivery got here around 1 pm, only 3 items were out of stock. I now have way too much ice cream. Have become addicted to cola floats. But I need longer straws or a shorter glass. Delish and a lot less expensive than Sonic shakes.  And Sonic doesn't deliver here.

Took a nap, Spook joined me. I took the comforter she took the purple plush.

Sad because the LVFD scanner has been offline all week. So I missed the Channel 5 (FOX) Christmas tree being set on fire.

Henderson has announced they are creating an EMT unit. Currently all firefighters are EMTs, which means they respond to medical emergencies with fire trucks. Slow and wasteful. The new EMTs will not be fire fighters, and they will drive rescue vehicles. Reminds me of the stupidity of Sunnyvale, CA where all firefighters are EMTs and police officers. When they are in patrol cars their fire/medical gear is in the trunk, and when they are on a fire truck their police gear is on board. Effing stupid and expensive.

The only thing on Tivo today was PTI. After my nap I watched a stunningly photographed Nature show on how the Vikings sailed to the Shetlands (no ponies were mentioned) and then followed the birds and sea life step by step eventually to Vinland, which the show claims was Newfoundland. I always thought Vinland was further south.

Tomorrow:
Call the locksmith and demand a refund for the obscenely overpriced deadbolt. I can send it back if they want it.
