Spook was parked on the bath mat on my bedroom floor when I woke up around midnight, then she curled up on the bed next to me until I got out of bed for reals.
My bedroom waste bag was especially heavy for TMI reasons, and as I was dragging it down the hallway and past the aquarium something happened to make me lose my balance and fall down. Hit my head on the table, scraped my right hand and leg, & broke off a nail. I think I also sprained my right shoulder. There is a small lump on my head. Unlike the last time I fell, this time I was able to get back up.
Took a few minutes in the aquarium view recliner before dragging the garbage bags through the kitchen and into the laundry room.
Did my morning meds routine, grabbed the last banana and sliced an avocado, and poured some cran-pom juice and staged those on the livingroom tray. Caught up on social media & online news.
Parked in the new recliner, had breakfast, watched a little of a CSPAN author's talk on his book about early women aviators, then hit the record button so I could watch some of the Oscars red carpet pre-show. Far too many gowns chose breast exposure over form.
Strapped on Tevas, got the garbage bags into the bin outside, the drove to Albertson's looking for the grab and go 4-berry containers, but did not see them. Got separate containers of blueberries, raspberries, strawberries and blackberries instead. And some cantaloupe. Also more bananas.
Had to wait outside for a few minutes because there were no carts. Puzzling because there were none in the parking lot cart holders, and not very many shoppers in the store. Someone gifted me with a Walmart cart.
They were out of dark chocolate pudding, but I got milk chocolate as well as lime.
Shrimp, cocktail sauce, lox was on sale, and four assorted Lean Cuisine meals. Pork and veggie pot stickers.
Picked up the mail in the way home - batteries for the Hgl meters and a letter from Humana saying a prescription could not be refilled because they got no response from the prescribing doctor. No name of the drug or the doctor. Humana sucks at communications.
Home, the battery did not do the trick. The 2nd meter powers up but still won't pair with the phone. Hoping the Pixel phone fixes that.
Channel surfed between NASCAR and news until the oscars started. Set Tivo to record that for 10 minutes longer than scheduled.
About an hour in, watched the recording, 3+ hours. Dune won every techie award plus best score, I call shenanigans because the clips looked pretty ragged. Bottom line for the main awards is it was an anyone can win situation. All the actors were great, all the songs except Beyoncé's were Oscar quality. I did not like that the best movie and best director films are only on streaming platforms.
And the show ran long. Tivo stopped just before Best Actor was announced. Also, the section where Will Smith punched Kid Rock was garbled - there was a botched attempt to bleep it out. Kid's joke/insult was chopped, and after the punch they muted Will's words.
Lunch was shrimp, Dinner was pot stickers.
Tomorrow:
Oscars follow-up shows
Call T-Mobile after noon about a Pixel 6.
If I buy one the rest of the day will be setting it up.
