howeirdWasn't thrilled to wake up at 7:30, Spook was asleep in the guest room under the keyboard stand. I do not see how that is a comfortable place for her, except it has the feel of a fortress.
Hgl was reasonable this morning but not as low as I had hoped. Spook was meowing for treats before I was ready. Took meds and shot up first, set aside the diuretics until after I get back from the nails appointment.
10 o'clock drove to the nails place, it only took 8 minutes. Sat in the parking lot till 15 minutes before, and took my time walking around the block from the parking lot. Kathy was waiting for me.
She's the owner/main artist and does a good job quickly. And she manages somehow to chat with me in English while maintaining a conversation with the staff in Vietnamese.
After the nails were done I moved the car to the underground lot across from the PO, put on my pack with the laptop and walked 3 blocks to Starbucks. It wasn't as crowded as usual, but the table I chose was broken, so I had to wait for a better one. Not a long wait, and the other table had power, so I was able to charge the laptop some. The Dell has a problem, always has had, of draining the battery when it is powered down. It loses about 10% overnight.
Checked email and FB, still had an hour to go before chat session so I went back to the car and home, and fired up the PC.
Lunch was moo dang - I washed it all off and sliced a few pieces and added it to some of the wide noodles. It tasted pretty good, actually.
In the mailbox was a couple of bottles of diuretic. None of my amazon stuff came today.
4:30 I was fading so I got undressed and took a nap. Spook curled up on the bed just close enough that I could pet her head.
Forgot to mention: Watched Roma yesterday on Netflix. After just over an hour I was so bored I switched it off. I do not see how it could be nominated for any awards, let alone 10 Oscars. It takes forever to set up the plot and is scattered and fractured after that. Amazing how they made a forest fire look dull. The boyfriend's full frontal nudity lasted about 5 minutes. We got to see every part of his scrawny body. Way too many needless close-ups of every day stuff, like cleaning up dog poop and squeezing a too-big car into a too-small garage with some collateral damage.
Dinner was reheated strogonoff and noodles. Chocolate cake a la mode.
Wasted a lot of time FFing through MTV's beach house show, which starts with the fat blonde chick getting arrested for punching someone in a bar fight. The rest of the hour is mostly her jabbering about how it's expensive to go to court, and how she didn't punch the girl, and being an idiot. A shame because the last episode ended with a great date between the one hot chick and the not quite hot enough housemate who made a really good impression on her. Fat blonde chick derailed the follow-up. The producers need to re-think who the center of attention should be.
There was an amazing Nova this week, way in-depth recounting of the Hawaii eruptions a few months ago. Superb camera work and they interviewed a lot of articulate experts.
Plans for tomorrow:
Orchid show in Redwood City. Looking for catalayas to buy.
