Plan A, mostly

Late late night, after Karaoke, did not get to sleep till about 2:30.
Spook curled up next to me in bed. Closer than usual. Easy petting distance. She was still there when the alarm went off at 7:30.
Short pit stop, weighed myself ( of course I gained a pound) then back to bed. Spook switched to the window sill for about an hour, then re-joined me. She loves Shaari's quilt.
The usual breakfast, but at 1 pm. Hgl high as expected, the insulin had worn off by then.
Put the laptop & camera in the car and drove to Baylands Park. Walked much further along the trail than my sciatica wanted me to. But I got some good pix, and the weather was perfect. Sunny, warm, nice breeze.

Mallard coming in for a landing. Mallards own the pond.

Thistle leaves make an interesting pattern

Severely cropped from larger image. Google thinks this is a Buckeye Butterfly, I think it's a moth mimicking one.

Took lots of pictures of this guy, it's an avocet, I think maybe a pied avocet. They are also called stilts.
Took my aching back to the restroom and then to GO where I plugged in the car, the plan was to take my laptop into Peet's/Specialty's, have a snack and watch storm chaser on Twitch. The charger failed, someone was plugged into the other charger, so I just went for the snack. But the wi-fi was too slow to watch any video, so after my snack I checked and the other charger was free so I moved my car over. It worked.
GO for salad stuff, also got a can of boiled oysters for no apparent reason except I've never had oysters and will not eat raw ones. Also got beer battered fish fillets and real breaded honey BBQ bone-in wings. It makes no sense, but I want the bones in the wings. Boneless seems heretical. Chicken tenders - great name but no idea what they are actually made of. Bypassed the banana display at the front because they usually have better ones in the back, but I forgot.
Still out of my brand of mochi, but I have some from Safeway.
The car was mostly charged, but no one was in line for the charger so I sat in the car for half an hour while it filled to 100%.
Home, downloaded the pictures from the camera, posted them on Flickr and some on FB.
Watched a storm chaser who drove all the way to Kansas to try to see a tornado. No tornado but lots of impressive lightning, and his drive home was pelted with raindrops the size of golf balls. Sounded like hail, but he said no.
Dinner was salad with a couple of new items. Cherry tomatoes and slices of red onion. Need to use smaller slices, that stuff is potent.
Watched most of Nova, on a cockamamie plan by Israel to restore the Dead Sea by (1) desalinizing Mediterranean water (2) pumping the brine into the Dead Sea and (3) stealing water from the Galilee. Or something like that. They have somehow convinced the Palestinians that this is a good deal for them. It also may help Jordan. But primarily it will help Israel at their expense. I'll watch the rest when I finish this.
Dinner was beer battered fish fillets, mixed veggies and dessert was quartered strawberries in whipped cream.
Loaded the dishwasher. Applied for 2 more weeks of unemployment benefits. Called middle sister, she had ideas on where I might want to move to. She's planning on South Carolina, but I'm not southern enough. She suggested Austin. Florida might be another place. Bend, Oregon? Probably too expensive.
Took out the garbage.
Watched a little of a Thai woman DJ who is visiting her home town in Nan province. I've been there, one of my Peace Corps buddies was assigned there. Probably not the same town, but maybe...
Plans for tomorrow:
Drop off the rent
7 pm BASFA meeting because they have my ticket for May the 4ths' SJ Giants game
Job hunt
