Someone at BayCon asked where I got my Col. Sanders outfit, and the answer was "all over the Great Mall in Milpitas". I also noted that it would have been a lot easier if I had just asked at the men's shops there. Today I went to the Great Mall, and the name of the shop is Berioni

Lunchtime I went to the Van Heusen store there, hoping to find a couple of navy short sleeved poplin shirts. They only a small selection of poplin, none of them navy. I did pick up some satin stripe sky blue, and one each of two other colors which I now forget. Lavender and green, maybe, both in the satin stripe. These were 40% off retail, plus everything in the store was another 50% off, so about $13 each. Not bad. Plus $10 off on my next purchase if I buy something in 30 days. Which I probably won't.

Had lunch at the food court, and am always amazed at the diversity of shapes and sizes there. Among couples, too. I was in line behind a 20-ish couple, she was about 4'10" and maybe 90 lbs. He was a head taller than me, about 6'4", broad shoulders but trim. The school kids were out in force - no surprise because it was in the 90's outside and the mall is air conditioned.

Lots of turn-over in both the stores and kiosks. What had been a huge music store is now a high-end furniture place with oriental carpets in the back. Way more show stores than one would think a single mall could justify. Except maybe the Imelda Marcos Mall in Quezon City.

Drove to work and to the mall even though it was a spare the air day, because when light rail is free, there's no room for bikes. Ironic, that.
