Okay, so the games have been pretty dirty so far, and will no doubt get worse. But one thing made me do a double-take and think there may be hope for the world yet. After at least three of the games, some players from the losing team gave their jersey to one of the winning team members.

Is there a back-story here that I missed, or is this really a rare example of Fine Sportsmanship?

It is actually a tradition in big international games…. It was happening a lot more during the first round. If the game is dirty, or a team feels as though it was, they generally don’t feel like exchanging jerseys. However you may have noticed Brazil v France was just a good game between two excellent teams, no cheap shots, no dirty plays… Good feelings all around.
