This morning's surprise was walking into the front room and seeing the aquarium half empty of water, and the table it is on looking like a lake. Unplugged the power strip and grabbed towels from the guest bath and the bedroom closet. Moved everything off the table. Very little water on the carpet, yay.

Further inspection showed the filter pump was tilted backwards enough to pour water behind the tank instead of inside it. And I had installed the input tube backwards when I placed the pre-filter on it.

So, after mopping up all the water, I crafted a piece from a small KFC plastic container to put between the pump and the back of the tank, so the pump was level. And then snapped the input tube in place twice, facing the right way. I also had to push the filters down to snap the cover in place.

That done, with the pump churning out at full feed into the tank, I filled a bucket with tap water, treated it with conditioner/fish stress reliever, and fed water a half gallon at a time into the tank. Then it took 3 more half gallons to fill to the previous mark.

Took the shirts out of the washing machine and put them in the dryer and washed the towels. Once for the colored ones and once for the white one. Now all of that is in the dryer, waiting for the morning when the temp outside is < 70. It got up to 109 on my front yard today. 104 in my car.

Which is also when I will go to the mailbox because stupid USPS delivered the big box of cat litter cartridges to my house but left the other box with cat treats and soda syrups in the mailbox storage bin. Both boxes were on the same USPS truck. Go figure.

Just out of curiosity I looked up Aquarius for today, and it turned out to be a major Bad Day for the sign.

An important cosmic shift emerges under Thursday's skies, Aquarius. Jupiter, the planet of abundance and growth, departs from your sign and moves forward into deep-feeling Pisces.

FL Fisherman was streaming before I was even awake, I watched him with one of his biggest fans on board hardly catching anything until the fan snagged a giant mackerel, which made his trip worthwhile.

Took a lie-down around 3, Spook claimed the middle of the bed before I got in.

Fire dept scanner reported that it was not a roll-over crash on the freeway, nobody was hurt. But there was an apartment fire somewhere and a couple of people with shortness of breath. On was 24 and had COPD.

Lunch was PNB&J.

Watched The Voice, first the performances and then the voting and last chance performances. I agreed with most of the winners, but not all. A few were chosen for their costumes and bling, and one for his dance moves. One good voice who was not young or flashy enough didn't make it. One horrible growly countrified voice did.

Dinner was a serving of yellow curry tilapia over rice. I only finished 2/3 of the rice. Mint chip ice cream for dessert, this half gallon got all the chips the previous half gallon was missing.

Maam and Spook both jumped on my lap at various times.

Ordered a remote for the AV receiver. I used to have one, lost it in the move.

No stray cats sighted.

Plans for tomorrow:
Run the dryer
Get the packages & the mail
Quick trip to Albertson's for greens and fruit
