Nasty night, okay day

howeirdOnce again the new insulin kicked my butt, and once again I applied the wrong self-medication and totally messed up my GI system. 3 am was impressed with how well the new-ish little Bissel carpet shampoo machine got rid of the stains.
Spook kept me company, yelled at me as I ran the machine, and joined me on the bed when I finally got to sleep. She even brought her favorite little mouse toy.
Tried to sleep in, but ended up out and about at 8:30 and did some laundry. I had plugged the car in around midnight.
Jade is still scared of me, and spent the morning in her hole.
12:30 left for an ultrasound appointment way up north, I figured it would take an hour, but left 90 minutes before. It did take an hour, even with one of the main roads being blocked by a big fire. And when I got there it turned out my 2 pm appointment was actually for 2:15. They called me in about 2:30. Tech misread my name, added an S in the middle, and when no one answered she gave my first name as Madison. WTF?
But she did a good job with the exam, it took an hour. Very thorough peek inside both legs, mostly from the inside thighs.
Home, GPS wanted to take me on the freeway so I turned it off and found the strip. Did the whole length of casino row, and it was a mess. The whole strip is being repaved and the way they are doing it is geared for maximum confusion. Lots of one lane sections, and left turn lanes blocking traffic which wants to go straight. Good thing about an electric car is stop & slow charges the batteries.
Once I got onto Tropicana heading for home it was better - 4 or 5 lanes - but still a lot of tourists driving while slow. Lots of Texas plates.
Home by 4:30, car thermometer said 122° but the official in the shade high was 116. Broke a record.
Cantaloupe and a Smith's banana nut muffin, ginger ale. The muffin was underdone and lopsided.
Just a piece of chicken thigh for dinner, and ice cream.
Jade came out of hiding and went behind the new little freezer. When I walked over to her she ran out of the office and found the water fountain. Yay!
Delivered: ant traps, put four of them out. And a nice bedroom mirror, the kind which tilts inside the frame. They did not say assembly required. Pissed me off, but it was easy except for a not long enough allen wrench. While the mirror was against the front door, Spook was baffled by the new mirror cat, and checked behind the mirror a couple of times. It was cute. But in the bedroom this mirror will be pointing upward so I can see to button my shirt, I will probably put cat mirror somewhere else.
Watched the 6 am news, and PTI
