Four hour tour
Nov. 27th, 2021 11:49 pmIt was billed as a 4-hour afternoon tour to Hoover Dam. I was supposed to be picked up at 12:45, but the bus didn't get there till 1:30. And there was only one seat (non-window) left.
Instead of going to the dam, we had a historic tour of Boulder City (no stops, just comments from the driver/guide), then he took up to the non-scenic side of the dam and an out of the way gift shop. 25 minute stop.
Finally we were let off at the actual dam site, and left till 4:05. And then two more short stops as the sun had set, useless for photos, the first with a long switchback set of steps to the view (too much for me) and only 25 minutes, then Lake Mead overlook (I've been there before) too dark for photos.
As the last on I was supposed to be the first off, but the driver decided to not return the way he came, instead adding a long tour of Las Vegas. So the first people on were the first off. I was last, dropped off about 7 pm. Home by 7:30.
