You gotta have heart

howeirdNo time for anything this morning except a shower and meds, had to be on the road to the cardiology appointment by 8:30. My car GPS did not know the address existed, but Google maps was a pretty clear that it was a straight shot down Desert Inn Rd just past Eastern. Brand new building, lots of parking, my doctor was not listed on the electronic screen but I knew the suite # and his name was on that door.
Easy check-in, nurse came for me about 9:30. Did the usual BP then came back and did an EKG. The doctor understood the urgency, and will gather my data from the previous cardiologist, if it's available. Need to return Monday for the pacemaker data dump, and maybe for a heart stress ultrasound if there isn't one on file. I remember having one done at Kaiser, but not sure about Nevada. Doc says he thinks I'll be okay for the urology procedure.
Got an appointment for a return visit in April, they checked and I'll be covered under the new United insurance.
Lots of clouds...chance of rain 20%
Watched the Bachelorette Men Tell All. What a crock. so many insincere posers. The only guys who still had any integrity were numbers 4 and 5, and one very large, very black guy. Olu?
PTI was interesting. Nice to have Mike & Tony. I wish they could get some more big names on 5 Good Minutes. Have not seen Steve Young in a while.
Added Storage Wars to my Tivo list, new faces this year.
Called a different locksmith. It seems the Vegas locksmiths are Arabs. This guy did a great job with the hardware, removed the overpriced manual lock and installed the inexpensive motorized one perfectly. But he did not understand programming at all, especially the 2-layer architecture. There is a program code which needs to be entered before any command, then a number 1-8 and then the user code. The "set" button needs to be pushed after every entry.
Adding a user code is a 1. So:
program code, set, 1, set, user code, set. This adds a user code to unlock the door. "set" by itself locks the door, user code plus set unlocks it. The deadbolt is motorized, which is cool.
Deleting a user code is a 2. Changing the program code is a 3. Enabling auto-lock is an 8. and so on.
Took a nap at around 2:30, Spook joined me.
After Tivo I used the reset button to clear everything, changed the program code, added two user codes and set auto-lock for 30 seconds. It's all working.
While I was doing that, next door neighbor came out on his porch to ask if I hear a coyote. I did not, but assured him we have them here, along with a family of fat raccoons and some bunny rabbits. And I pointed out a package someone had left on this porch which he had not seen.
When I was in Jade's room watching her vacuum the canned food, Spook came to the gate. Jade growled for a while, Spook slinked away and hid under the bed. But Jade still saw her and growled some more before resuming hoovering.
Dark meat turkey and baked beans for dinner and two coke floats (need more chocolate ice cream).
Drove to the trail hoping for sunset photos, but got there too early and then the clouds and sun did not cooperate.
It rained for a couple of hours, probably 0.02 inches.
Tomorrow:
Maybe get some groc delivered
Fire up the fireplace
