Where is everyone?

I guess there are more places closed for the Italian holiday than I thought. Normal work day for me, and good on it too.

How could anyone celebrate the birthday of a guy who couldn't tell the difference between the people of India (whom he must have seen, since his job was to find a better trading route to them) and the people he brought STDs and various and sundry other diseases to? The languages, dress, build, coloring and food of the two continents are entirely different.

I can understand him not "getting it" that he had found a whole new world. A new fantastic point of view. (stop me before I Disney again!). But he kept making the mistake over and over again.

And he kept getting paid for it.

But my real reason for posting this is it's awfully boring here when none of my regular FL peeps are making noise here.
