Yesterday at Stanford Mall I was surprised and appalled at some stores already having Christmas decorations up. Macy's and Williams Sonoma Home stores were the worst. And some TV commercials are already starting in with the tacky use of Xmas music for their jingles.
But the annoying commercialization of the week award goes to NBC/Chevy which played the same truck commercial about 15 times in the first half, and NBC took three or four times as many commercial breaks than the game called for. It's a very entertaining, well-produced and expensive commercial, worthy of a SuperBowl debut, but after three times in a row I found another channel to switch to every time NBC went to commercial.
