I heard about this on the radio Sunday. I understand it was also in some form in the same newspaper chain's Marines and Navy publications.

All last week Bush was yelling about how Rummy was here to stay, but as soon as the Congressional vote was in, the handwriting was on the wall. But the ridiculous thing is Bush has appointed another one of his Dad's cronies to replace Rumsfeld - the fellow who was CIA director under Bush Sr. CIA to DOD is as stupid an appointment as was Colin Powell (Career military to State). His confirmation hearing will be interesting, I hope.
