A lot of people are posting "where did the year go?" and "where did my life go?" messages both here and in email.

I would like to tell you the answer to that. It's something I have posted before, but it seems more pertinent toward the end of the year.

Howeird' Theory of Relativity

Where the time goes:

When you are 1 year old, a year is 100% of your life. Time goes slowly because you have to live the entire length of your life again to reach 2 years old.

When you are 10 years old, a year is 10% of your life. Time goes 10 times more quickly than when you were 1, because you only have to live 1/10 of the length of your life again to reach 11 years old.

When you are 50 years old, a year is 2% of your life. Time goes 50 times more quickly than when you were 1, because you only have to live 1/50 of the length of your life again to reach 51 years old.

It's even more impressive when you put it in days.

Age Days lived 1 day=?% of your life
 10 3650 0.0274
 20 7300 0.0137
 30 10950 0.0091
 40 14600 0.0068

So you wonder why life seems to be passing by more quickly? Because it is.

Which is why I stay at 42. At least it doesn't get any worse. :)
