I don't know which makes me madder, the bait and switch which hid the Olympic torch from thousands of people who had come long distances and endured lots of hassles to see it, or corrupt jive-turkey Willie Brown chosen to be one of the torch bearers.

Willie Brown! Gack, its a good thing they changed the torch route- he is a turd and all the demonstrators with their Chinese flags would have bopped him on the head. Talk about all those worthy souls who have waited their entire life to carry a stupid torch up the Embarcadero and they give it to that dude - WTF!!!!!

You can still make the closing ceremony - the last I heard it was at the airport.

Yeah, the torch is at the airport. It is being deported. I wouldn't go even if I could get there in time - it's a total farce to hold the ceremony there.

I agree, they could have had the ceremony a thousand different places - the Airport is just lame.

Frankly I was stunned by the decision to go up Van Ness street. I didn't think it was necessary at all. Granted, what do I know.

Willy was very important to the route. He could set his hat on fire and run through the street in case the torch was taken by those protesting the route.
